THANK YOU FOR HELPING RAISE OVER $230,000
ON PLEDGE DAY 2011.
Thanks to the generosity of our listeners, The QR77/Westin Hotel Calgary Children’s Foundation raised over $228,000 on pledge day in 2011. The board reviewed applications from a wide variety of local children’s charities in April and is now in the process of disbursing the funds. The successful applicants work with children who are physically, mentally and/or financially disadvantaged. We donate to mostly small, grass-roots groups who have limited dollars for fundraisers, communications, etc. We put the money directly into the hands of the people who are working to improve the lives of Calgary kids. We do not give money to any organization that has a specific religious affiliation. Thank you to all the charities who applied for funding this year. The board had many difficult decisions to make. Unfortunately, the number of requests far exceeded the amount of money the QR77/Westin Hotel Calgary Children’s Foundation was able to give. Applications are considered on their own merit each year. Each application is considered a one-time grant and there is absolutely no guarantee that the charity will receive funding in subsequent years. The application deadline for funding is March 31, 2012. However, if you have an emergent funding need; please contact the Calgary Children’s Foundation to explain your urgent situation and the board may consider funding out-side the usual giving time-frame. Enquiries can be made by contacting the Administrator: Betty Jo Kaiser bettyjo.kaiser@corusent.com 403-263-5437
Pledge Day 2011 will take place in the lobby of the Westin Calgary on Friday, December 9th. Join QR77 Radio and the Westin Calgary to help raise money for Calgary area Children’s Charities.
