As we head into summer, we head into bug bite and minor wound season. A recent study showed that 76 per cent of Canadians believe that airing out a cut or scrape will speed up the healing process, when according to health professionals this is not the best way to treat a wound.  Canada’s obstetricians say the percentage of babies born by Cesarean section is at an all time high and continues to rise. Is this out of convenience and what are the risks involved in having a C-section? New legislation will go into effect on July 2nd that establishes parity between drug and alcohol impaired driving under the law.  New booster seat laws take effect on Canada Day for BC and Newfoundland/Labrador. Quebec, Ontario, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick already has booster seat legislation in effect. Why doesn’t Alberta? And does it matter, Safe Kids Canada urges all remaining provinces to use booster seats when needed, regardless of where they live. ...
