Yesterday marked the beginning of a new era in tobacco sales in the province of Alberta. Advertising or promotion of tobacco products is now prohibited in any place these products are sold. Retailers were required to remove all point-of-sale advertising and displays of tobacco products from their shelves as of July 1st. (Sales of tobacco products at pharmacies in supermarkets will cease January 1, 2009). We speak with a tobacconist on how this will affect his business. ...

Three in four Canadians surveyed knew that George W. Bush is the American head of state but only two in ten knew that the Canadian head of state is Queen Elizabeth II. Copper wire theft seems to be a growing trend, especially with the price of copper on the rise. People will go to great lengths to get it; with some either getting severely injured or even dying in the process.   Unsure whether or not a restaurant is following sanitary procedures? Do they pass health regulations? Before you decide to go eat out, you can now go on the web to check as the province is posting restaurant inspection reports online.  The Calgary Tower turns 40 on Monday. We’ll take a look at the history of the building and see what the Tower is planning to do to celebrate the milestone....
