Did the Stamps spend too much time reading their own clippings after their first win?
 
One has to wonder.  The team lacked the intesnity that carried them to victory in game one.  Let's amend that. They lacked the intensity for the fist 30 minutes.  The eventually found it, but could only take the lead for a few seconds.  Playing from behind is tough and the fact it, they didn't do enough on defense.
 
Too bad about defensive end Julian Jenkins.  LIkely done for theyear wiht a broken leg.

GAME ONE FOLLOW UP

It may be just one week into things but already the Calgary Stampeders are into juggle mode on defense.  They have place three players,defensive end Funtaine Hunter, defensie end Juwan Simpson and middle linebacker Saleem Rasheed on the injured list. That means there will be three new starters on defense this week against Edmonton.  Regardless of who is paying I thought the Stampeder defense was very aggressive in the BC Lions game.  They were far more physical than the Lions and that is a good sign for the balance of the year.

The team heads to Edmonton later this week and they're heading into a very charged situation. The Eskimo faithful were unimpressed with the fact coach Danny Macioca was brought back for 2008.  Starting off with a miserable loss in Regina won't calm the waters any.  No coach in the league faces more pressure than Macioca and a few ...

FIRST GAME FACTS

Can't wait for tomorrow night.  But, let's not kid anyone.  The team is in deep
 
Some numbers to look forward to in 2008:
 
Since Wally Buono switched sidelines, BC is 11-2-1 against the Stamps
 
Stamps have won their last two home openers but lost the previous five.
 
Henry Burris needs just over 3100 this season to become number two in passing behind Doug Flutie
 
Nik Lewis is seeking to become the first  Stamps receiver to record five straight 1,000 yard season.
 
It all begins tomorrow
